“Me” Time

Day 11 of the blog challenge; Quiet time helps me to regain balance in my day to day life. I implement a quiet time when needed everyday. If I feel overwhelmed or too distracted, I take some time to myself. Long walks alone are a great way for me to pray and recenter. A good workout and sweat are also great options for me to re-balance. Moving forward this year I will also implement ‘me’ time where I unwind by making extra time for my personal appearance. Scheduling time at the nail spa, taking a candlelit shower, or getting a…

Outsourcing

After about a half year of writing my book its time to start wrapping things up. Which means I get to start rewriting it! A.K.A. Editing. The joys of editing. If there is one thing I can outsource and will outsource it is the editing of my book. There is not enough time for me to be creative and grammatically accurate. Obviously there is no need to take my editing off shore but I will not complete it in house. Friends are great, but for an autobiography not so much. So off to the Odesk I go, for a large…

More business practices…

As we move into day 9 of the blog challenge. Natalie is encouraging us to share the one tool that will streamline your business. The one tool I can’t go without and that let’s me work on a high level it Google Drive. Collaboration is everything when you work with contractors and vendors. Google drive evens the playing field. We can collaborate real time. Make sure our edits are seen over phone calls, and work without extensive revisions and tons of word documents. I can access slide shows from the phone and even build presentations via Google drive apps. At this…

The ONE Thing

The one thing that I would like to focus on this year is my writing. There are several things on my plate, but there is one thing I would like to accomplish this year and that would be writing my first book. That’s why this blog challenge is so important. I need to inspire myself to keep going an persevering even through writer’s block. If I could change my focus to write in the mornings that would be improvement. Maybe I will get there sometime this year and maybe I won’t, but I will be writing. I’ve thought about having someone…

My ideal business model…

…Would include revenue. 🙂 Seriously, if Day 6’s challenge is to share you ideal business revenue structure. In this day and age I think residual online income is imperative. In my case, I would like to achieve this by product line, selling books to be exact. My other big revenue stream would ideally be my consulting services. This would include speaking engagements, as well as seminars.  When I look at my ideal life style and how I want to live, my business model has to reinforce that. For the amount of events I want to organize, attend, and facilitate, having…

Out with the old…

This is a declaration. Today I resolve to stop the vain habit of self loathing. I am replacing it with daily affirmations. I am not perfect even though I hold myself to that standard. Its time I’m realistic and understand that I too need encouragement and support.Replacing loathing with the living Word.

Distractions

Since challenge three was all about productivity, today is all about what kills our focus. What makes you the least productive? What are you willing to sacrifice for focus? Ironically, my favorite productivity tool is “the cloud” but my number one distraction is my iPhone. Yes, apps are cool and I can access all my space in the sky, but I don’t need to do it all from my phone. Even in the office my phone is a big distraction. I’m a social media geek, blogger, and professional athlete follower–I have a problem. In 2014, I made a pretty bold attempt…

Productivity, My Way

Day number three of the blog challenge and Natalie is making sure to choose topics that are simple, just for me. Today had a tight squeeze on my free time but I wanted to share my number one productivity tool, rather than them all. This tool is allowing me to keep up with the blog challenge, minimize my stuff (beneficial for all minimalists), plan events, run my business, and stay in touch with family members. Any guesses of what amazing piece of technology is allowing me to do that? The Cloud! In 2012 I officially migrated all my documents,…

Most Important Actions

If I had to pick some of my most important tasks for the next days, the blog challenge would definitely be on that list. There is no lack of things that need to be taken care of in my life, but my ability to see my work get finished is inspiration I need right now. Sometimes you have to create what you want to be a part of. That quote has stuck with me over the last ten years. The things I want to do in life and the goals I want to accomplish just don’t look like everyone else’s.…
